THE BEGINNING
When a sunny cricket afternoon turned cloudy and windy in Oxford, the match was rained off and my friends and I ventured into the town center where I stumbled upon a beautiful watch, whose strap resembled a cricket ball.
I immediately fell in love with the watch, and insisted on buying it, not appreciating the price of £14,900.
BURNING DESIRE
I could not afford the watch for £14,900, but I was consumed with the same desire I’d felt when I was 9 over the Casio F-91W. After working in my Father’s photo studio, I managed to save enough to buy the Casio watch, but this watch, even though it was on my wrist, seemed unattainable.
Regardless, the depth of my desire was so palpable, I started saving for the watch.
CHANGE OF HEARTS
When I eventually saved enough to buy the watch, it occured to me that it wasn’t the expensive watch that I wanted, but a cricket inspired watch. I designed and built my first watch, which I named after W.G. Grace. From the moment I picked up the watch, I loved it so much that I wouldn’t take it off, even to sleep.
Although W.G. Grace was created for my own pleasure, several friends admired it so much that I had a few more copies built, to allow friends an opportunity to wear a timepiece that reminds them to always believe in their passion.
SYMBOL OF PASSION
I travelled thousands of miles and met hundreds of people in order to create W.G. Grace and loved every minute of it because it was something I loved.
If you ever had a passion for something: Fight for it, shield it from negativity and advance. You’ll achieve things beyond possible.
